Zeami

The work, which is based on a 15th-century Noh play by Motokiyo Zeami and is sung in German, was a resounding success when it was first performed in Brussels in 2011, followed by performances in Luxembourg, Warsaw and Berlin.

Developed out of folk and aristocratic practices in the late 14th century by the actor Kanami, it became a literary tradition under his son Zeami, who wrote numerous plays and secret treatises detailing the tricks of the trade.
