There is no standby mode that allows the projector to quickly boot in just a few seconds like other USTs.

But the risk of a bilateral trade war with China makes the current situation different, given China’s large holdings of USTs.

Some have suggested that they may not be able to, because selling off all those USTs and MBS would cause yields to spike, causing distress to asset holders and the US government.

But Jeffery Frankel recently suggested that the ECB should do QE by buying USTs to depress the value of the Euro in order to help periphery exporters.

This is where the USTs come in.
