Tweeddale

The Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale MSP first tabled a Welfare of Dogs bill in 2018 but saw it fall at the end of a term of parliament curtailed by Covid.

Both the Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid and David Mundell, the MP for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale, have yet to declare their allegiances.

He was initially a ground campaigner and organiser for Better Together, and a campaigner with David Mundell in the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency.

Mr Mundell, who represents Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale, said he was disappointed by the SNP's attitude to the bid.

Christine Grahame, SNP MSP for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, has called for an independent inquiry into Scottish Borders Council's handling of this case.
