Over the years they said they had served everyone from singer Tom Jones to politician Edwina Hart but many of the guests made a lasting impression.

Wales, without a victory since Tom Jones was in short pants, are coming to Edinburgh with a pulse after a fine performance against Ireland.

In each episode of “Dinner With Gavin Rossdale,” which premiered Thursday on Vizio’s WatchFree+ platform, the 59-year-old singer and guitarist welcomes a different celebrity guest — first up is Serena Williams, followed by the likes of Selma Blair, Tom Jones and Jack McBrayer — into his Studio City abode for a home-cooked meal and an intimate conversation.

The pair have worked together in the past on numerous films, including the Bafta award-winning A Bit of Tom Jones in 2009 and Cow, a short film about texting and driving which became a global hit.

The pianist and composer was well known to a generation of TV viewers, and also worked with singers such as Petula Clark, Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck.
