TMC's CEO Gerard Barron has previously said he hopes to begin mining by the end of the year.

The teams will have honorary coaches from the Warriors’ “Run TMC” days — Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin — for the NBA squad plus former NBA player Jeremy Lin for the G League club.

The TMC has refuted the allegation and has blamed "political outsiders" for stoking the violence.

TMC has threatened to apply for permission before deep-sea mining rules and regulations are in place.

Last December, a TMC ship set to dock at Honolulu Harbor was turned away as protesters — native Hawaiians, navigators and environmentalists — gathered to express their displeasure.
