At $27, it’s on the pricier side, but it’s a large dish with seasoned Szechuan sauce and a nice mix of flavors and textures, as carrots, cucumbers and peanuts round out the presentation.

The jam sauce, meanwhile, features red pepper, Szechuan peppercorn, cayenne pepper and apple vinegar.

If that doesn't make you throw out your Szechuan sauce I don't know what will.

A half-mile north sits Nine Way, which has been packed with fans of Szechuan cuisine.
