Since Cuellar’s indictment last month, three people have pleaded guilty in connection with the case: Colin Strother, one of Cuellar’s top former aides; Florencia Roden, a Texas political and business consultant; and Irada Akhoundova, who was director of a Texas affiliate of an Azerbaijan energy company.

One of Cuellar’s top former aides, Colin Strother, and a Texas political and business consultant, Florencia Roden, struck plea deals in March on felony money laundering charges related to the Mexican bank.

Colin Strother, Cuellar’s former chief of staff and campaign manager, and Florencia Rendon, a business consultant and former chief of staff for former U.S.

The plea agreements by Strother, 50, and Rendon, 73, are related to laundering money from Mexico.

Strother faces up to five years in prison, and Rendon faces up to 20 years.
