St.-Jean

It’s the name of the group chat Redick has with assistants Greg St. Jean, Beau Levesque, Ty Abbott and video coordinator Michael Wexler.

It was something St. Jean and Wexler used with their Phoenix co-workers as a catch-all scouting term for the type of player all coaches love, the kind who don’t care about anything other than winning and understanding the ugly stuff you have to do on the court to get that done.

Redick said he and St. Jean noticed that embrace with James first.

It’s why Doncic has found ways to add competition to the noncompetitive parts of his routine, his pregame on-court workout featuring a lengthy menu of trick shots, including a half-court contest that ends with either Doncic or Lakers coaches Greg St. Jean and Ty Abbott doing pushups.

In addition to arriving with Morris, Kleber and members of his medical team, Doncic was teammates with Lakers coach JJ Redick and Dorian Finney-Smith and worked with Lakers assistant Greg St. Jean in Dallas.
