Soufflot

I maintain heading south, now down Rue de Médicis, to pick up Rue Soufflot with the Panthéon in sight.

In the morning I walked down the Boulevard to the rue Soufflot for coffee and brioche.

There is a domed Temple of Love, designed by Soufflot.

In the gloomy vaults below we behold the tombs of a number of eminent men, among them those of Rousseau, Voltaire, and Soufflot, the architect of the Pantheon.

Some soldiers crossed the garden, broke down the rails facing the Rue Soufflot, traversed the boulevard, and surprised the first barricade in that street.
