The Vatican didn’t give a reason for why Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak was resigning as head of the diocese of Sosnowiec, in southwestern Poland.

The Vatican embassy in Poland said a temporary administrator, Archbishop Adrian Galbas of Katowice, would run the diocese of Sosnowiec until a new bishop is named.

Polish news media reported that he played with the national hockey team, Zaglebie Sosnowiec.

The Ukrainian artists, he says, have received special Polish Theater Institute grants to work in Sosnowiec and other cities.

This was certainly true of “I Feel Mint for You,” a play by two Ukrainian actresses who escaped devastated eastern Ukraine and now shelter in the southern Polish city of Sosnowiec.
