The Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team, who cover parts of Eryri, also known as Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula, said "the calls have increased, no doubt" in recent years.

"I'm over the moon," said the 42-year-old, who is originally from Salford, Greater Manchester, but who now spends a lot of time taking pictures in Eryri, which is also known as Snowdonia.

Last month, the Eryri National Park Authority became the first park to introduce the rule, arguing that half of the population of Eryri – also known as Snowdonia – have been priced out of the housing market.

He has continually returned to Blaenau Ffestiniog, which is in the heart of Eryri, also known as Snowdonia National Park.

"People are still going to use Snowdon and Snowdonia, and I would never say that they should not be allowed to, but it's just that choice and we need to make that informed choice."
