Smethwick

West Midlands Police discovered the body of a man in the city's canal between Rabone Lane and Bridge Street in Smethwick at about 15:00 GMT on 30 November.

The R&B and soul artist from Smethwick, near Birmingham, was soon put forward for a music programme which culminated in a performance at the iconic Koko concert venue in Camden, London.

Sharjeel Shahzad was arrested on Monday following the two-car collision in Smethwick, West Midlands, on Saturday evening.

The crash, which also injured four adults, happened on Dartmouth Road in Smethwick, on Saturday evening.

The collision, between a Toyota and a grey Porsche Cayenne, took place in Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, in the West Midlands, just before 23:00 GMT on Saturday.
