Sinbad

In January 2024, while children were studying Sinbad the Sailor, Ms Whiley played the clip because it showed Sinbad's dress and appearance, she told the panel.

Michael Starke, who played Sinbad in Brookside and worked alongside Cope in the soap in the late 1990s, described him as a “proper gentleman”.

“I got more things to do,” Sinbad said, seated while speaking to the audience in a strong, clear voice and surrounded by his family and caregivers.

I did want to do the big tribute to Sinbad.

For almost 20 years, Sinbad was inescapable: TV, movies, commercials, books, you name it.
