In an interview after the ship was impounded, Abdulgani Serang, the general secretary of the National Union of Seafarers of India, described the crew, members of which he had spoken to briefly, as tense and feeling the pressure of the investigation.

“If the SCA has suffered losses, they can sort it out with those involved with the ship,” Abdulgani Serang, the union’s general secretary, told the Times of India on Sunday.

Abdulgani Serang, the general secretary for National Union of Seafarers of India, wrote on social media Saturday that he had been in touch with the crew, who he described as “fine but stressed out.”

In Serang, on the outskirts of Jakarta, media reports said some voters used rubber boats to navigate flooded streets to reach polling stations.
