After a manhunt the gunman was tracked down at a cafe near his home in Schaerbeek, northern Brussels, on Tuesday morning.

The 45-year-old, named as Abdesalem, was shot in a café in the Schaerbeek neighbourhood on Tuesday.

Federal prosecutors said later that the suspect was found after a witness claimed to have spotted him in a Schaerbeek cafe.
