Rigi

Established in 2012, the group emerged from the remnants of Jundallah, a Sunni militant organization that had diminished after Iran captured and executed its leader, Abdolmalek Rigi, in 2010.

Although Rigi lost — she now works at Fox News in New York while completing her Boise State degree online — the political momentum on campus had shifted.

Jacinta Rigi, a sophomore who had opposed the impeachment, posted a video accusing the student government of ignoring her and others on campus.

The video drew almost 8,300 views, and Rigi ran for student government president in 2021.

Other reports from the time said that Rigi was on board a commercial flight from Dubai to Kyrgyzstan which landed in Iran, where he was arrested.
