Rhone wine

This lovely red is lighter in color and body than many Rhone wines, but don’t let that put you off.

Rhone wines have crept up in price, but this beauty manages to overdeliver for the category.

A couple years ago, we did a blind tasting of Tablas Creek with a Perrin Rhone wine - it was a great way to contrast the fruit-forward California style with the relatively austere French.

Blended from Grenache and syrah, this is a quintessential Rhone wine: deep and savory, with a sense of mountain air, sea breeze and wild herbs.

The road here cuts a curvy route near House Mountain, a volcano that erupted millions of years ago leaving alkaline subsoils, which Page Springs Cellars says are comparable to France’s Southern Rhone wine region.
