Three months ago, on June 19th, the R.C.P. poll average had Sanders at fifteen per cent; on Wednesday, he was at 16.3 per cent.

On August 19th, the R.C.P. poll average showed Biden’s support at 28.8 per cent; on September 12th, he was at 26.8 per cent; on Thursday morning, he was at twenty-eight per cent.

The latest R.C.P. poll average showed him with a favorability rating of 43.8 per cent, which is pretty close to his latest job-approval rating—44.3 per cent on Wednesday.

On July 11th, a week before the gavel came down in Cleveland, the R.C.P. poll average showed Clinton leading Trump by 4.5 percentage points—not far from where the gap is today.

On the Democratic side, the R.C.P. average shows Sanders at 53.3 per cent and Clinton at 40.5 per cent. Sanders has been leading in New Hampshire since early December; since Iowa, Clinton has made up five points, but that still leaves her a long way back, which may explain why her husband went on the attack over the weekend.
