Ratingen

The interior minister of North Rhine-Westphalia state, Herbert Reul, said 10 firefighters and two police officers were injured in the blast at a high-rise building in the town of Ratingen.

Ratingen is located on the northeastern outskirts of Duesseldorf, the state capital.

Three police officers and several firefighters have been injured in an explosion in the western German town of Ratingen, police say.

A large-scale police operation was under way in Ratingen, which is just north-east of Düsseldorf, police in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia said.

Ratingen police are investigating a possible Dutch connection in last month's twin raid too, having identified a small vehicle that sped from the scene to a nearby Autobahn.
