QANTAS

Several of Australia's Qantas airline planes have been diverted from London to Paris, with other flights likely to be affected, it said.

Avalon Airport is exclusively served by Jetstar, a budget airline operated by Qantas.

A Qantas spokesperson said: "The process for handling incidents onboard an aircraft like this is managed by the operating airline, which in this case is Qatar Airways."

The pair said they had not been contacted nor offered any support by Qatar Airways or Qantas, the airline through which they booked the flight.

Australian airline Qantas told the BBC it "temporarily adjusted" the routes of its planes and other carriers have reportedly done the same.
