If only that many people attended PTA meetings to discuss the curriculum and school safety, among other things!

“You have a chance to read what the school is about, what they offer, you learn about the school community,” Mrs Eslambolchi, who is head of the PTA, says.

But the dictated working hours of the school day during the rest of the year often conflict with their own children’s drop-offs and pick-ups, parent-teacher conferences, back-to-school nights, PTA meetings and other school events.

"We are leaders of every organization. We're teachers, we're lawyers, we're doctors, we're parents — we're on the PTA."
