A Peel Sessions collection, featuring artists including Jimi Hendrix, Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, Nico and Stiff Little Fingers, is expected to fetch between £800-£1,200, while a collection of Pink Floyd albums is expected to sell for up to £800.

And yet, on Monday 29 May 1967, history was made when the likes of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and The Move performed there to eager fans.

Pink Floyd played to only a few hundred people, because there were too few turnstiles to allow the thousands of fans inside in time to see their set.

This isn’t the Beach Boys’ “Pet Sounds” or Pink Floyd’s “Animals” with just a few random animal sounds sprinkled in.

Her father, a sound engineer and tour manager for Pink Floyd, died in 1976 from an apparent heroin overdose.
