The explosions in Kyiv on Monday were a few hours after Russia attacked Pavlograd in central Ukraine, sparking a massive fire that lit up the night sky.

The occupation of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions will continue but a major Russian breakthrough like a drive from the south to Pavlograd to encircle the Ukrainian forces in the Donbas is less likely.

Nearly 100 miles to the west, three Russian missiles slammed into the city of Pavlograd.

A missile hit a building in the Pavlograd district of the Dnipro, Reznichenko said.
