A mum with paranoid schizophrenia who killed her six-year-old son while believing she was being "instructed by a demonic force" has been given an indefinite hospital order.

Calocane, who had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, received a hospital order in January 2024 after admitting manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and three counts of attempted murder.

The court heard that she was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and therefore entered the pleas on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility and three counts of attempted murder after being diagnosed with who has paranoid schizophrenia prior to the killings.

Subsequent contacts with services saw him labelled as having paranoid schizophrenia.
