Reform UK wants to show they can knock a brick out of Labour's so-called "red wall", with Nigel Farage keen to prove the party's electoral credibility with a win in the North West of England.

It's a relatively new seat, formed by boundary changes ahead of last year's general election, but Labour still won comfortably in an area that's considered one of the party's strongholds in the North West of England.

Cardinal Nichols, who leads six million Roman Catholics in England and Wales, exclusively told BBC North West he "never thought" he would be voting because Pope Francis "didn't show many signs of slowing down" and appeared to be recovering from double pneumonia.

The North West has the biggest proportion of Catholics outside of London, making up more than one in 10 of the population, according to St Mary's University.

The team, based in Porthmadog, Gwynedd has over 30 volunteers and provides a search and rescue service across north west Wales.
