As hundreds of men, women and children spill on to Doncaster Road on their way to Glanford Park – the home of the football club and, for many, the heart of this proud, working class town in North Lincolnshire – there is the same air of stoicism and defiance.

The North Lincolnshire town's skyline boasts four blast furnaces, all named after English Queens - Bess, Mary, Anne and Victoria.

On Tuesday, North Lincolnshire Council voted unanimously in favour of the company being brought back into public ownership, while last week in Parliament, Conservative MPs and the deputy leader of Reform UK, Richard Tice, also called for nationalisation.

Once the fuel transfer is completed, it will be delivered to its original destination of the port of Killingholme in North Lincolnshire, the company has said.
