Harris immediately assembled her innermost staff at her residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington D.C. and began the process of calling Democratic Party leaders and major donors.

The story doesn’t lay out in steps what Harris did or exactly whom she called in what order, but in a matter of hours, campaign and White House staff had arrived at the vice president’s house at the Naval Observatory and began making preparations.

Clad in a Howard University hoodie, Harris served salad, sandwiches and anchovy-topped pizzas to her aides as she spent roughly 10 hours on phone calls to Democratic leaders on Sunday at her residence at the United States Naval Observatory, the source said.

She now resides in Los Angeles when she is not staying at the vice president’s official residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington.
