The Senedd vote last October saw 26 Members of the Senedd opposing Labour MS Julie Morgan's motion with 19 MSs in support versus nine abstentions.

There will be a new voting system for next year's Senedd election with 16 constituencies each returning six MSs via proportional representation, meaning parties are rewarded for the percentage share of the vote they win.

In their report published on Thursday, MSs expressed dismay at the "lack of speed and urgency" in the Welsh government response to the closure and said they wanted ministers to conduct a "lessons learned review" so Holyhead was prepared and resilient in the future.

Morgan came under pressure from a number of Plaid Cymru MSs, who called for her to condemn the reforms.

Labour MSs banged Senedd tables as the result of the vote came in with 29 Senedd members in support and 28 against, with one abstention from Dodds.
