Mother of Satan

TATP, or tri-acetone tri-peroxide, has been used in extremist attacks worldwide and has been nicknamed the “mother of Satan” because of its volatility.

The powder is used by terrorist groups, such as ISIS, to make so-called “Mother of Satan” bombs.

More than 20 pounds of the triacetone triperoxide, an explosive compound sometimes called “the mother of Satan,” was found at a Federal Way house where a man’s SUV exploded on Tuesday.

He said that these types of bombs are known as the Mother of Satan.

Palestinian insurgents who experimented with it in the 1980s nicknamed it "the mother of Satan" because the white crystal powder can be easily detonated by a cigarette, a match or too much heat.
