Mesa Verde

Bin was released into the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement during the COVID-19 pandemic and detained at a Mesa Verde processing center, according to the American Civil Liberties Union.

The Florida-based GEO Group operates three facilities in California — Mesa Verde, Adelanto and Golden State Annex — that have been hotbeds of activism among detainees for years.

The Bataan’s accompanying warship the Mesa Verde is a transport dock ship, carrying approximately 2,000 Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

The Ford and its accompanying warships will be replaced by the amphibious assault ship the USS Bataan and its accompanying warships, the USS Mesa Verde and the USS Carter Hall.

A U.S. official said the USS Mesa Verde, an amphibious transport dock, is in the Mediterranean Sea, and the Bataan, an amphibious assault ship, and the USS Carter Hall, a dock landing ship, were in the Gulf region and are now heading toward the Red Sea.
