"In our whole country, only one hospital has the capacity to treat at a time more than 10 patients needing high-flow oxygen and their Covid unit is usually full," said Dr Sarah Wandia, who works in Maua Methodist hospital in Kenya.

It happened five years earlier aboard a luxury cruise ship docked off of Rio De Janeiro’s Pier Maua that doubled as the U.S. men’s and women’s basketball teams’ home for more than three weeks amid their Olympic gold medal runs.

But it all still seemed a little removed from the reality of a 22-year-old born and raised in �Ѳ���á, a town in the outskirts of São Paulo.

The project is a partnership between Rosas, the University of Sao Paulo, the FEI University Center and the Maua Technological Institute, as well as various industry partners that provided the hardware and software for the project.

There wasn’t much of a legacy from the 2016 Rio Olympics, but the city got one thing right when it revitalised a decaying port area and replaced an ugly flyover with a spacious, pedestrianised square called Praça �Ѳ���á.
