Maj Gen Zaw Min Tun, military council spokesman, issued a general statement saying "we will respond if military bases are attacked without reason".

The inspector general’s investigation found “several exchanges between Maj Gen Finerty and the women regarding legislative matters” but “no evidence of favors or exchanging of sensitive information by either party.”

Addressing reporters, Maj Ralph Woolfolk said "the overall theme of this case is grown men playing gangster that left two of our children in graves and our communities in fear".
