The burgundy DS, with its space-age silhouette and directional headlights that follow the turning of the wheel, has curves as gentle as a Maillol river nymph.

Leslie C. Denk, a spokeswoman for the Norton Simon Museum, said the museum had noticed some visitors posting photographs of themselves posing like works of art, particularly alongside sculptures by Auguste Rodin and Aristide Maillol.

On Thursday, Sinclair will open an exhibition at Paris’s Musée Maillol of 66 paintings that once passed through her grandfather’s gallery.

The show will move to the Maillol Museum in Paris early next year and eventually to Jerusalem and New York.
