Lou Gehrig's disease

Actor Eric Dane, best known for his roles on “Grey’s Anatomy” and more recently on “Euphoria,” reportedly has ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

In 2022, she was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, which took her ability to sing.

His death — from M.N.D., a group of neurological disorders that includes amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or A.L.S., also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease — was announced by the Leeds Rhinos, the British club with which he spent his entire 17-year professional career.

Since proposing the concept of ferroptosis, Stockwell's lab has demonstrated that it is instrumental to normal bodily processes, but that it can also attack and kill healthy cells in patients with neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and Lou Gehrig's disease.

Gehrig went homerless in eight games that regular season before retiring because of complications with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, what would come to be known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
