Lexan

Today, any toast deemed worthy of public display is safely contained behind a three-sided Lexan shield, fully out of reach for the toast-starved masses.

The north wall is metal siding with urethane foam on the inside, and the south side is covered with flexible 8-millimeter Lexan brand, twin wall polycarbonate panels that allow in filtered sunlight.

He also requires each employee to wear gloves and a mask, and even has built a Lexan polycarbonate barrier window in-between staff and customers upon entry.

Like the adjacent “Floating Light,” which dangles two Lexan panels in midair, “Panels” is less a thing in itself than a vehicle for defining light and shadow.
