Kevin Sanders of Lenexa, Kansas, said he heard what sounded like firecrackers and then people started running.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleged that in 2021, an assistant manager at a Chipotle in Lenexa, Kansas, repeatedly harassed the employee by asking her to show him her hair, despite her refusal.

Hostess, which is based in the city of Lenexa, Kansas, was founded in 1930 and makes several iconic household brands, including Ding Dongs, Zingers, and Voortman cookies and wafers.

The Lenexa, Kansas, company said at the time that it was weighed down by higher pension and medical costs than its competitors, whose employees weren’t unionized.
