Yamhill County Commissioner Casey Kulla, who was also running for governor before going for state labor commissioner instead, said he has encouraged Kristof to run for the state House, Congress or the county commission.

The Yamhill County Board of Commissioners unanimously authorized the county counsel to approve the settlement last week, said Commissioner Casey Kulla.

Kulla, the Yamhill County commissioner, supports the opioid settlement but doesn’t want the state taking excessive control of it.

Kulla recognizes there won’t be a quick fix.

“It’s going to be long-term,” Kulla said.
