He was born Stuart Krieg Murphy on Feb. 20, 1927, in Phoenix, the son of an alcoholic father who abandoned his family when Stuart was an infant.

“Paving the road puts pressure on negotiators and mediators. The Israelis are trying to create a fait accompli,” says Dr Krieg.

Andreas Krieg, a senior lecturer in security studies at Kings College London, said: "Israel takes a very broad approach to 'Hamas membership', which includes any affiliation with the organisation, including civil servants or administrators."

“Basically, it’s a stalemate,” said Andreas Krieg, a war expert at King’s College London.

“It is an unwinnable war,” Dr. Krieg said.
