One defendant — Katrina Woods, 33, of Maricopa, Ariz. — listed in her fraudulent claim a nonexistent address in Altadena that was supposedly destroyed as her primary residence, authorities said.

Hurricane Katrina is waiting in the wings.

It was the deadliest hurricane in the US since Katrina in 2005.

The General Services Administration and the departments of Education and Health and Human Services followed up on March 13 with a letter to Columbia’s interim president, Katrina Armstrong, specifying the steps Columbia must take to open “formal negotiations” over the blocked funding and the broader “financial relationship” with the government.

"Our response to the government agencies outlines the substantive work we've been doing over the last academic year to advance our mission, ensure uninterrupted academic activities, and make every student, faculty, and staff member safe and welcome on our campus," Interim President Katrina Armstrong told students in an email on Friday.
