In the country’s easternmost Luhansk province, regional Gov. Serhiy Haidai said that the Ukrainian military blew up a warehouse in Russian-held Kadiivka on the site of a factory where Russian forces were storing trucks packed with ammunition.

The shooting has prompted widespread speculation about who might have carried out the attack at a checkpoint in the occupied Ukrainian town of Kadiivka, some distance from the frontline.

And on Dec. 11, Serhiy Haidai, Ukraine’s governor for the Russian-occupied Luhansk region, said that a hotel serving as a base for Wagner soldiers in the eastern town of Kadiivka had been targeted.

Ukrainian officials said that on Sunday, their forces had fired a missile that hit a hotel housing Wagner fighters in Kadiivka, a small city in Luhansk Province.

The exiled head of the Ukrainian regional administration in Luhansk Province, Serhiy Haidai, said in a post on the Telegram messaging app that “many” members of the Wagner force had been killed in the attack on Sunday in the city of Kadiivka.
