It’s a story he loves telling: He arrived in New York in 1980, at age 17, from the city of Jelenia Góra in southwestern Poland.

The two victims were found dead Friday morning in the building of the Lower Silesia Philharmonic in Jelenia Gora.

Officials say a male security guard was found Friday morning in a pool of blood while a 26-year-old female harpist was also found dead in a different part of the building in the city of Jelenia Gora.

Negotiations also collapsed in the southwestern city of Jelenia Gora, where union members were demanding, among other things, that a party-run resort be turned over to the workers.
