Hussain Haqqani, a former Pakistani ambassador to the US, believes escalation is possible this time, with India likely to consider limited "surgical strikes" like in 2016.

The mother of Syed Hussain Shah, a local man who took tourists on horse rides to earn a living and died in the attack, told ANI news agency that her son was the sole breadwinner of the family.

"If we release her, she would just go attack a farmer's sheep and get killed," Lovely's caretaker, Tehzeeb Hussain, tells us.

Hussain, of Cressex Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for importing cocaine.

Jean-Pierre Labelle, 48, Tanvir Hussain, 46, Michael Keating, 56, and his brother Matthew Keating, 49, were all sentenced on Friday at Hove Crown Court.
