HPV

The Mayo Clinic says some types of HPV infections can cause different types of cancer including cervical cancer.

In 2022, a woman filed a civil suit against the Backstreet Boys performer, alleging he had sexually assaulted her when she was 17 and infected her with HPV.

These types of HPV can cause abnormal changes to the cells in your cervix and are called "high risk" types of HPV.

If high risk types of HPV are found during screening, the sample of cells is also checked for abnormal cell changes.

A cluster of cancers caused by HPV are now preventable, but the vaccine is under constant siege from politicians.
