Some Hungarian officials, including Orbán himself, have been slammed by Jewish groups for their praise of Miklos Horthy, Hungary’s World War II-era leader who allied Hungary with Nazi Germany.

As a one-handed soldier, Takács asked for permission to stay in the army, and received a personal note from the head of state, �Ѿ����ó�� Horthy.

Four months of communist "Red Terror" in 1919 was followed by the "White Terror", carried out by Adm Miklos Horthy's National Army militia.

Horthy was regent from 1920-44 and later refused to apologise for the atrocities, arguing that "only an iron broom can sweep the country clean".

The handwritten dedication at the front is from Hungary's nationalist wartime leader, Miklos Horthy, who led Hungary into an alliance with Nazi Germany.
