Guaviare

It is most active in the provinces of Caquetá, Guaviare, Meta and Putumayo.

The children’s journey began when they were flying with their mom from the village of Araracuara, to San Jose del Guaviare.

On May 1, 2023, 13-year-old Lesly, nine-year-old Soleiny, four-year-old Tien Norie and 11-month old Cristin, were flying with their mother to the town of San José del Guaviare.

The children were travelling together with their mother, 33-year-old Magdalena Mucutuy, in a Cessna 206 light aircraft from their home near Araracuara, in the south of Colombia, to San José del Guaviare,.

They were headed to the town of San José del Guaviare.
