After the Trump administration expelled a man by mistake and refused to bring him back; after the president promised to send asylum-seekers to a military prison at Guantanamo Bay, and then did; after the White House announced, fittingly, that only Caucasians from South Africa would be welcome as refugees — after all that, a majority of white Americans are telling pollsters that they like what they see.

The George W. Bush administration relied on this authority to hold detainees at a U.S. military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Sadly, all too many of us became inured to the idea that prisoners could be sent to that infamous offshore prison of injustice at �ҳܲ��Գ�á�Բ����� Bay, Cuba, perhaps never to be released.

The George W. Bush administration went on to hold upwards of 800 men and boys in the U.S. military prison at the �ҳܲ��Գ�á�Բ����� Bay naval base without charge, access to counsel, or judicial review.

The US has dismantled large parts of a camp built to house migrants at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, satellite images reviewed by BBC Verify show.
