Friends Mrs Cunningham and Mrs Foulds were struck by Glyn Jones, 68, in his Audi A3 as they crossed the road in Southport, Merseyside, on 30 November 2021.

"The pre-booking had to happen because of the dangerous sights we saw during Covid and after Covid," said partnership project manager Catrin Glyn.

The council's update came after the bird took two woolly hats from the head of Flamstead resident 91-year-old Glyn Parry.

Glyn School in Ewell, Merstham Park in Redhill and Rosebery School in Epsom are to take part in the pilot.

Her father was Major Glyn Faithfull, an eccentric British MI6 agent turned professor of Italian literature.
