Since 2007, the comedian, actress and musician has performed as one half of Garfunkel and Oates, a raunchy comedy duo also starring Kate Micucci.

Woman of the moment Sabrina Carpenter kicked off the show by performing a duet alongside Paul Simon of folk rock duo Simon and Garfunkel.

The ceremony has a history of reuniting feuding bandmates - with Led Zeppelin, Talking Heads, the Police, Simon & Garfunkel and Cream all reforming to accept their honour.

The show started with an all-star rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, dedicated to the victims of the LA Wildfires.

This track is hard rock band Disturbed's brooding but beautiful cover of the Simon and Garfunkel classic.
