The wife of the pilot killed last year in a floatplane crash off Whidbey Island has become the latest to file a lawsuit against companies associated with the aircraft’s operations and manufacturing.

The man who died Friday when a floatplane crashed into Lake Sammamish has been identified as Anthony Jurcan, an owner of the plane.

The company continues in business, flying people from its base at the southern tip of Lake Washington to the San Juan Islands, on its smaller DHC-2 Beaver floatplanes.

Two people were taken to the hospital after a floatplane crashed Tuesday in Lakewood, Pierce County, south of Tacoma.

Officials on Friday confirmed the identities of the seven people whose bodies have been recovered after last month’s floatplane crash off Whidbey Island, including the remains that washed ashore nearly two weeks after the crash.
