Gardner: It’s so special to hear that people enjoyed it, because I had an experience when I was at the Groundlings where I broke in a sketch too many times with Chris Eckert.

In 2020, in honor of his data center work, Barroso received the Eckert-Mauchly Award, named for John Presper Eckert and John William Mauchly, who built one of the world’s first computers in the 1940s.

The five employees killed were Joshua Barrick, 40, a senior vice president; Deana Eckert, 57, an executive administrative officer; Tommy Elliott, 63, also a senior vice president; Juliana Farmer, 45, a loan analyst; and Jim Tutt Jr., 64, a commercial real estate market executive.

"We're greatly improving our predictions of guide RNA with this research," Eckert said.

"This paper even has implications across the human scale," Eckert said.
